We’ve been doing a lot of work on the lab network so we decided to do another Pentester’s Workshop. I think you’ll really like it – it’s 50 bucks just like last time.

Pentester’s Workshop

This is a HOW/WHY class. We’ll be covering the common penetration testing related subjects such as:

  • Scanning
  • Enumeration
  • Exploitation
  • Post-Exploitation
  • Web Application Testing

This workshop is designed to be an attack lab style of class. Students will be given a VMware image with all of the attack tools preloaded to download, and VPN credentials to log into the Strategic Security lab network.

The target network will contain vulnerable hosts running Windows 2000, XP, Vista, Windows 7, Server 2003, Server 2008, and various flavors of Linux. There is also a snort IDS in the network as well so students can look to see which of their attacks are being detected.

The workshop will be LIVE via GotoWebinar, and I will be walking the students through the various attacks, and answering student questions. Students will be given a lab manual that walks them through the various attacks.

The workshop will be held on Saturday the 14th of April, 2012 from 4 pm – 6pm EST at a cost of $50 USD

The students will be allowed to maintain their VPN access until midnight April 30th of April, 2012.

A few things to note that will be different from the first workshop:

  • The attack VM will be made available for students to download on Wednesday the 9th of April
  • The VPN credentials, IRC channel info, and lab manual for the target network made available to the students on Friday the 13th of April at noon EST via email
  • From 6pm – 9pm EST on the 13th of April Strategic Security rookies will be in an IRC channel assisting people with connecting to the Strategic Security Lab network.
  • From noon EST to 4pm on the 14th of April Strategic Security rookies will be in an IRC channel assisting people with connecting to the Strategic Security Lab network
